In the last week, it has been my absolute privilege to perform a private car seat check for three of our postpartum families. Three families are now riding safer and feeling more confident about the installation and use of their seats, and they all remarked about how simple and enjoyable the process was compared to other checks they have done! Heck, one of our clients enjoyed a tall can of beer while we worked together to check all of their seats right in their own driveway…can’t beat that!Click Here to read about 5 things you can do today to make your carseat safer!
I became a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician because of my own experiences as a parent. Struggles with getting a response from any local technicians and never really feeling confident installing the seats myself or putting in new seats always left me wanting to certify and help families. Not to mention the judgment that I encountered during each car seat check! (I mean really, have *NOTHING* on the floors of my car *EVER*? Do these techs even HAVE children???)
As a parent of three children, I understand that there is “ideal” and there is “real life.” I love doing a car seat check because, without judgment, we talk through the possibilities and help you install your seats in a way that is going to work for your family and be as safe as possible. My goal at the end of our appointment is for you to feel confident moving your seat to another vehicle, comfortable adjusting your seat as your child grows, and reassured that you are able to call us whenever you have questions!
The fee for a private car seat check in your home or our office is $75 (in the Peoria & Bloomington-Normal areas–call to discuss options if you live outside of these areas).
